Monstercat (myös Monstercat Media) on kanadalainen elektroniseen musiikkiin keskittynyt levy-yhtiö ja mediaverkosto. Yhtiön perusti Mike Darlington ja elektronisen musiikin tuottaja Jonathan Winter (artistinimeltään Going Quantum) vuonna 2011. Yhtiön tavoitteena on ollut alusta lähtien tukea ja auttaa tulevia elektronisen musiikin aloittelijoita.[1][2] Yhtiön toimitusjohtajana toimii elektronisen musiikin tuottaja Ephixa.

Julkaisut [muokkaa]
Monstercat julkaisee uuden julkaisun kolme kertaa viikossa: maanantaisin, keskiviikkoisin ja perjantaisin. Monstercat julkaisee myös uuden kokoelma-albumin aina joka toinen kuukausi ja vuoden vaihteessa levy-yhtiö julkaisee Monstercat Best of -albumin, joka sisältää edellisvuoden yleisön mielestä parhaat Monstercatin julkaisemat kappaleet. Albumin kappaleet valitaan äänestyksellä Monstercatin Facebook-sivulla vähän ennen albumin julkaisua. Äänestysaika on yleensä kuukausi. Ensimmäisestä best of -albumista lähtien jokaisesta kokoelma- tai erikoisalbumeissa lähtien niissä julkaistaan tunnin mittainen Monstercat Album Mix eli miksaus, jossa on miksattuna jokainen albumin kappale yhteen. Sen tekee yleensä Going Quantum, Ephixa, joku toinen Monstercatin artisti tai Monstercat Album Mix -kilpailun voittaja.
